A cost-saving All-IP communication solution for Falcone Bauchemie AG
Falcone Bauchemie AG, a Falcone Group company, develops and manufactures goods for the construction sector and markets these in Switzerland and Europe. To do this, the company needs a uniform, flexible, and All-IP-enabled communication solution with high availability.
After the acquisition of Albert Isliker & Company AG, Falcone Bauchemie AG decided to migrate their telephony, consisting of analog, ISDN and VoIP technology, for the entire Falcone Group to IP. At the same time, a complete unified-communication (UC) solution had to be implemented with high availability and uniform system architecture.
The new solution has to be scalable, flexible, plus easier and more cost- effective to manage. In addition to that, it must provide connectivity for desktop computers with Windows and macOS operating systems.
Furthermore, to provide higher availability for its customers, Falcone Group favored a dynamic call distribution across various locations. The Regional Sales Managers, located around the world, should also be able to communicate more easily and cost effectively with the new solution.
Falcone’s IT service provider “IT- Consulting Haller”, performed the preliminary planning and evaluation. After a detailed analysis, the integration partner, Mobilcom Systems, recommended the SmartNode OpenScape Business Appliance – a modern one-box communication solution with pre-installed OpenScape Business Software from Unify.
Following the test phase and preparation for migration, the solution was implemented throughout the Falcone Group— with no interruptions to ongoing business processes. The employees joined an effective training session to learn how to use the new solution efficiently.
OpenScape Business Software provides unified communications functions for the employees. The field staff are connected by using the UC Suite application “myPortal to go.” Due to its excellent functionality and user acceptance, the solution will be extended in the near future so that an ERP solution can also be incorporated.
The one-number concept enables all employees, regardless of their location, to communicate more efficiently and work together more productively – internally as well as with customers and partners. If required, the dynamic call distribution also allows calls from other locations to be taken or made with their phone number. This means that no customer calls are missed on local holidays.
Through the virtualized telephony system, the phone costs are considerably lower for contacting field staff on mobile devices all over the world. The VPN connection over a secured SIP trunk ensures a high level of reliability.
Because of its high level of scalability, the new All-IP-enabled UC solution can be managed more easily and cost-effectively while growing flexibly to meet the company’s requirements.
