OpenScape Business in the City of Garmisch-Partenkirchen – Giving a face to communication in this key tourist location
With a population of 26,000, but a visitor population rising to100,000 in any year, Garmisch-Partenkirchen is the leading address for winter sports in Germany and a top-class health resort. The town boasts a wide number of cultural and sporting events as well as many other recreational activities. In view of this, and to allow them to respond to significant rises in demand during seasonal peaks, the town authorities decided that it was time to modernize some aspects of its administration.
In consultation with its service provider Telenova, Garmisch-Partenkirchen identified the benefits of OpenScape Business – a modern communication solution from Unify as the solution to their challenges.
To design a state-of-the-art communication technology that would provide the City of Garmisch-Partenkirchen with the technological tools it needed to meet fluctuating business needs while still integrating existing phones, fax devices, entrance telephones and loudspeaker systems, plus current mobile DECT phones.
As well as central administration by trained customer personnel, the networked communication system needed to be scalable to meet future requirements.
In addition to pure telephone functionality, the built-in Booster Card means that OpenScape Business’s modern architecture also supports Unified Communication functionality such as presence display and One Number Service.
The cross-network administration interface gives the trained personnel an overview of the entire network.
The network-wide display of presence status enables employees to see whether colleagues are currently available, making unanswered calls a thing of the past.
Mobile and home offices can be integrated using mobile clients and automatic availability messages.
