First-class communication for the ASTORIA business consultancy group

Since 1982, clients from across auditing, tax and management consultancy have placed their trust in the ASTORIA Group, with its employees placing particular value on innovative strategies and forward-thinking solutions. And that’s just what their own new communications solution needed to be.

The Challenge

ASTORIA’s 70 employees work already on terminal server solutions in virtual environments. However, until recently, voice communications still took place on an on-site hardware- based telephony system. This was technically no longer on the latest status and became increasingly prone to maintenance. Following relocation to a new office space, the company wanted to switch to a more modern solution. Since they already have had a good experience with web-based software, the new telephone system also needed to be software-based and able to run in the office data center with high availability. In addition, ASTORIA wanted to work with a communication partner that worked and thought like ASTORIA itself – a reliable, forward-looking, efficient partner.

The Solution

ASTORIA decided to take up the offer of Atos Unify’s certified partner, MEHOKO – Meinhart & Heldele Gmbh. It was particularly impressed by their fast on-site support and holistic solution approach. As a communications expert, MEHOKO offers with „web& voice” one-stop internet and voice telephony solutions – and with this the basis for modern communication via the VoIP standard, SIP. The IP- based software solution Atos Unify OpenScape Business S was installed at the new site and connected using a 300-Mbit fibre optic cable. With around 70 Atos Unify OpenScape CP200 VoIP telephones and a unified communications application, multiple UC functions such as quick search, favourite lists, and status display for telephones were put to use. The intelligent call management system allows for efficient management and placement of incoming calls and thanks to Atos Unify’s innovative collaboration solution, Circuit, web conferences with clients and colleagues are easier than ever before. Circuit Meeting Room also provides an effective video conference solution.

The Benefits

ASTORIA’s new telephony solution is a communicative hole-in-one. Atos Unify OpenScape Business S is modern, fail-safe and can be expanded if needed. All functions are IP-based and ensure high availability thanks to fibre optic cables. Employees can continue to work using the terminal server solution as usual, but now have access to additional features. Whether it’s quick search, favourite lists, or colleagues’ presence status, the new functions can be used easily and intuitively on a mobile device, on-site via a PC monitor and keyboard, or using the Atos Unify OpenScape CP200 telephone. Individual greetings, music on hold and call forwarding can be easily set up thanks to the new virtual communication system’s automatic switchboard. Atos Unify’s collaboration solution, Circuit and Circuit Meeting Room, also provides the perfect foundation for quick, secure and efficient collaboration with clients and colleagues. Whether it’s via chat, audio or web conference, flexible and future-proof communication possibilities await.
